Tutorial 13:Phase Modulation Synthesis Basics

in Modular2 and III, Phase Modulation Synthesis is possible only to a limited extent, because there is no PhaseModulation-able (sine) OSC. the only OSC module which can handle phase modulation is the uknowOSC, which has three waveforms (pulse, saw, sub), of which saw and pulse can be phase-modulated. so, in this tutorial we’ll make a try with it and see what’s happening.
nb: Adern Flexor has two PM modules, see here.

in this patch, 10 modules are used: MVC A, 2x ADSR, esyncAdd2, gate2sync, multiOscSyncS, 2xLinVCA, polyOut, and>

...uknowOSCSyS

(OSC/Uknow), which is actually a combination of three OSCs (Pulse, Saw. Sub), and has the aforesaid phaseModulation inputs.

tweaks:

-using different wave types and pitch settings for the Modulator
-using different time settings for the Modulator amplification EG
-changing the PP and SP phaseModulation amount controls of the uknow OSC.
