Chaos modules create control values based on mathematical concepts of Chaos theory.
their output relies on the underlying equations,  the variables (which can be set by the controls of the modules), and the input modulation signals.
All chaos modules have in common that their outputs can be connected / fed back to their various mod inputs, to simulate unpredictible, chaotic behaviour.
